has received a long list of international celebrity guests in its 72 year history, has been declared a Cuba's national monument.

Sir Winston Churchill puffed Havana cigars in its stately rooms. Frank Sinatra sampled Cuban rum punches at the bar.

Hotel Nacional was inaugurated on December 30 in 1930.
It was built by a U.S. construction company, Purdey and Henderson, from a design by American architects.
In 1933, it was briefly occupied by mutinous military officers and was bombarded by government forces.




In the 1940s and 50s, Havana was a tourist playground, hotel received a stream of famous guests, including Nat King Cole, Marlon Brando and other entertainers, writers & celebrities.

The Hotel has two restaurants and a cafeteria Veranda buffet restaurant and Aguiar restaurant, this exquisite spot is named after the Havana defender Don Luis Aguiar who forced the British back from the bluff now occupied by the hotel during their invasion in the 18th century.

"Los Jardines" if you keep going through the main entrance doors you come out into the gardens, where the Spanish style arches open onto an elevated and lovely view of the sea.

A beautiful fountain with peacocks, make for a relaxing environment, and there is best Havana's entertainment, including fashion shows, barbecue specials, live music and the hotel cabaret show "Parisien". The special cocktail called "Jardín Nacional" is a Cuban best rum and fruit combo. "Aire Mar" bar with a wide selection of domestic and international wines. The star of the former is San Cristóbal, a superb dry wine.
