Havana Beach

Havana Beach, “Playa del Este” consists of four beaches in total. Two pairs grouped with two small towns which share names with two of the beaches.

To the west Playa El Megano and Playa Santa Maria Del Mar are located by the town of Santa Maria Del Mar. East of this and separated by the Rio Itabo, are Playa Boca Ciega and Playa Guanabo.

Peaceful, safe and near the nicest beaches in Cuba are: Santa Maria Beach, Bacuranao and Playa Guanabo, located just 15 minutes drive from Downtown Havana.

The beach area contains numerous of restaurants, cafes and bars as well as limited water sports equipment for rental. There are also a couple of convenience stores, a pharmacy, and clinic, a supermarket and a couple of cigar shops.

Santa Maria beach has excellent tourist facilities which offer services of water sports and recreation for all preferences. The sea’s temperature is a temptation to stay all day under the tropical sunshine which tans and caresses the body.

The area was one of the first resort areas in Cuba, one advantage is the close proximity to beautiful Old Havana. Buses and taxis are available for those who want to go in for a day or an evening. The main hotels in the area are: Atlantico, Sea Club Arenal and Tropicoco. All of them are nice, all inclusive right on the beach. Tropicoco is a more budget place.

Renting sports equipment is also easy: catamarans, paddleboats and kayaks are lined up on
the beach. The beach area contains numerous of restaurants, cafes and bars.
